POINT TO POINT 

The Point to Point races will be held at Fairwood Tinahely on Sunday next the 5th November.  First race is at 12.30 pm.

 

CANDLE OF HOPE SERVICE 

The Hope Cancer Support Centre would like to invite all those who have been touched by cancer (or other illnesses or loss) to join them at their annual Candle of Hope Service on Friday 3rd Novemberin St. Aidan’s Cathedral Enniscorthy at 8pm. If you are unable to attend you can still partake by lighting your own candle and listening to South East Radio who will broadcast the service live on air.

 

 

Catherine Fulvio Cookery Demonstration

Catherine Fulvio will host a cookery demonstration on Thursday 9th November in Seafield Hotel. Artisan food and craft fair from 6:45pm. Cookery demonstration @ 7:45pm. All proceeds in aid of Gorey Hockey Club Pitch Fund. Tickets €20 and are available from Alan Redmond Butchers, John Street, Gorey, any club member or phone 087 2733709 / 087 2628048.

 

CABARET 

The annual cabaret for Tomacork will be held on Friday 3rd November in the usual venue, all welcome for a great nights entertainment.

 

SPLIT THE POT

The winner of School Aodan Naofa Carnew Split the Pot of 20th October was Bernie Murphy winning €212, many thanks to everyone for their support, tickets only €2 from the school or local shops.

 

BINGO

The next bingo is 5th November at 2.30pm in St Bridget’s Hall, Carnew, all welcome.

GAA LOTTO

There was no winner of the GAA lotto on 23rd October , numbers were 8,10,14,23, lucky dips were Stacia Kinsella, c/o Din Doran. Sarah Osborne, Kilcavan. Aisling Balfe, Kilcavan and Mick Rossiter c/o Tom Culkin, the next draw is 6th November and the jackpot is €8,600.

 

SYMPATHY 

Carnew Ploughing Association would like to send sincere sympathy to the Donnelly family of Kilmacanogue on the sudden death of John last week.

 

RACE NIGHT 

There is a race night on 11th November in McCrea’s Carnew, all welcome in aid of the Back Alley fund.

 

NOVEMBER FAIR

The annual November fair will take place in Carnew Community Care on Friday 17th In Carnew Community Care with all the usual stalls of toys, books, brick a brac, bottle stall, mini raffle and monster raffle, home made treats and the boutique second hand shop, all welcome.

 

Annual Table Quiz

Shillelagh Area Community Games Committee will be holding their annual table quiz with raffle prizes on Fri 11th Nov @ 9pm in Parkview House, Shillelagh to raise funds for their 2018 program. Entry fee €40 per table of four. If you don’t have a team don’t worry, they will find one for you on the night! For further details find the event on Facebook.

TINAHELY WALKING CLUB 

On Sunday November 5, the walk will be at Crossbridge & Ballycumber (Grade B, 12km, 3.5 hours) meeting in Tinahely at 10.00. On Sunday November 12, the walk will be at Askamore (Grade B, 12km, 3 hours) meeting in Tinahely. Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear. 

CHRISTMAS PARTY 

Christmas party for Askamore’s Senior Citizens will take place on Saturday, November 18th at 7pm. Teas will be served. Music from John Murray. There will be lots of music, song, dance and Christmas cheer!

 

Carnew Musical Society – Sister Act  50th Anniversary Year Production

Carnew Musical Society’s forthcoming production of Sister Act will open in St. Brigid’s Hall, Carnew on Monday the 27th of November and will run until Saturday the 2nd  of December, 2017.   There are almost 60 cast for this year’s production, working under the direction of:  Michael Dunbar: Director,  Naoimh Penston: Musical Director and Choreographer: Graham Finnerty.
