Gardai urging people to stay indoors

Gardai are urging people to stay indoors and only travel if necessary, debris and fallen trees is being reported on many of the counties roads.

One woman has died as a result of a tree falling on her car in Co.Waterford.

Gardai are reporting extremely strong cross winds on the M11 Wexford/Dublin Rd between J14 Coynes Cross and J20 Arklow Cross.

The N81 Baltinglass/Dublin Rd has reopened between Poulaphouca and Russborough after the removal of a fallen tree.

Cookstown Rd in Enniskerry is closed due fallen power lines and a fallen tree near the entrance to the Summerhill Hotel.

An ESB pole is hanging over the Kilcullen/Dunlavin Rd (R412) just outside of Dunlavin.

The Tinahely/Aughrim Rd (R747) is closed between Kellys Hill and Churchlands due to a fallen tree.

Trees down in Greystones and Sea road, Kilcoole.

Avoca, Baltinglass, Aughrim, Tinahely, Greystones and Ashford are without power.
