Sincere sympathy is extended to the family and relatives of Mrs Annie Kelly, Lilac Cottage, Balllyellis who died during the week, her remains were removed to Askamore church on Thursday evening and burial took place on Friday morning following 11am mass.
To the family and relatives of Ian Morrisey, Hill View, Carnew who died during the week, his remains were removed to Carnew on Friday for 2pm mass, followed by burial in the new cemetery Carnew.

Alanna Davidson from the Coolboy area, is organising a table quiz to raise funds for a trip to Ethiopia in February with Gorta Self Help Africa. Alanna will travel with another student and teacher from Colaiste Bhride to visit and witness some of the projects first hand. The quiz takes place on Friday 24th November at 8.30pm in The Little Moon, Coolboy. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Carnew Musical Society – Sister Act 50th Anniversary Year Production
With a lot of hard grafting done and some work still to do by cast and crew, there is a great deal of excitement building up in anticipation for Carnew Musical Society’s production of Sister Act. St. Brigid’s Hall will rock to the music of this fabulous show, including songs such as Take me too Heaven, Raise your Voice, Fabulous Baby, Sister Act, Spread the love around and Sunday Fever.
As well as great music, Sister Act is hilariously funny and will be a great hit with the audiences. Naoimh Penston from Arklow, is both Musical Director and will the role of Dolores is teaching the nuns and the men of course…how to groove, while Graham Finnerty is teaching us all how to move to the groove as choreographer and Michael Dunbar as director is getting out the dramatic action and comedy .

The annual table quiz for the Community games will take place on Friday 17th November in Park View House, Shillelagh at 9pm entry fee €40, all welcome.
Huge congratulations to Tomacork’s Under 15 Hurling Team who had a hard fought victory on Sunday 5th November against Michael Dwyers in Ballinakill. A magnificent team performance was given by every player in the squad. Goals by Captain Owen Young, Eoin Kavanagh and a last minute goal by James Mc Ging secured a 2 point victory for Tomacork. All the players and parents would like to pay great tribute and heartfelt thanks to their trainers -Ken Redmond, Willie Collins and Jason Molloy , for their hard work, time and dedication over the year and which resulted in such a great achievement for the club.
