Santa Is Coming To Brockagh

Come and welcome Santa and his two horse carriage at the Glendalough Christmas Fair, Sunday the 10th of December at 1pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. Santa is inviting all children from 1pm to 3pm to visit with him in his grotto.

Glendalough Christmas Car Boot

Our pre-Christmas Car Boot is coming up on Sun 3rd of December. Get your Christmas decorations, homemade mince pies & cakes, clothes and accessories, books, candles, presents and much more. Vans must be booked in. Car park spaces for the next month or so will be limited so please pre-book indoor spaces early. Contact the Brockagh Centre on 0404-45600 or email if you wish to book an indoor space or if you prefer to sell outside just show up on the morning.

Movie Night at the Brockagh Centre Laragh

Christmas Movie Night to raise funds for Elevation Dance Team. We are looking to raise funds for uniforms, Westend and Disney opportunities, also for competitions at national level. Showing movie will be Elf on Dec 2nd, a family favourite! Doors will open at 5pm with entrance fee of  €4.50 which includes a hot chocolate. Wear your favourite Christmas pyjamas.

Christmas Fair

The Brockagh Resource Centre is having their annual Glendalough Christmas Fair on Sunday the 10th Dec. We welcome the locality and visitors to shop locally where you will find unique presents and gifts at very good value while enjoying a very festive day out. Stallholders will be selling their baking, jewellery, wreaths, woodturning, knits, candles, decorations, photography and more on the day. Santa arriving in a carriage at 1pm. Razzle Dazzle Annual Christmas Showcase

“The Razzle Dazzle Academy presents their Annual Christmas Showcase, featuring all our wonderful Dazzlers, on Saturday 16th December in the Brockagh Centre, Laragh. Show starts at 3pm (doors open 2.45pm) Promises to be lots of fun, filled with song, drama and laughter and guaranteed to get you in the Christmas Spirit! Tickets available at the door.”


Christmas Carols by candlelight in the Monastic City

A great way to start Christmas, in one of the most evocative settings in Wicklow. We invite you to join us on Tuesday 19th December at 7.30pm for a unique event to celebrate Christmas. Beginning with a candlelit procession through the monastic gates we will proceed to the ruins of the candlelit Cathedral for an evening of traditional carol singing in the monastic style. Tea, coffee will be provided afterwards in the Glendalough Hotel courtesy of Pat Casey. This a free event and open to everyone, including children, which must be accompanied by an adult. Assemble in the Glendalough Hotel car park at 7.15pm. Wrap up warm and bring your own lantern/torch and singing voice.


Glendalough – Art and Atmosphere

Rathdrum Historical Society will present a lecture by Joan Kavanagh in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh on Glendalough – Art and Atmosphere using images from the exhibition currently on display in the Centre. The exhibition and talk is based on a selection of paintings and drawings held by the National Library and the National Gallery of Ireland. The lecture will be given on Monday, 4thDecember in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh at 8 pm, followed by tea/coffee and festive mince pies. Please note the change from the Society’s Rathdrum v enue. There will be a charge of €3 at the door and all are welcome.

Happy Days  pre-Christmas Dates 

Our warmest welcome to baby Summer into the world and best wishes to Kerry, Scott and Hunter who have an extra happy edition to their family this Christmas. Happy Days baby and toddler drop in group is every Wednesday morning 10.30 -12pm at the Brockagh Centre(break in July and Aug). Coming on the Dec 6th is the Christmas art day and following that is the groups Christmas party on Dec 13th. Contact Sandra 0404-45600 at the centre for more information.

Active Retirement News Laragh

Our Christmas lunch will be in the Wicklow Heather on 12th December. This week David and Francis from Aughrim Bowling Facility attended the centre for a bowling session. The members look forward to their monthly session and have become very competitive. Our Christmas party dinner is taking place at Kilashee Hotel in Kildare 4th December, some places are still available so if your interested contact the centre asap. On the 12 th December pupils from the primary school will be attending the Brockagh Centre to perform Christmas carols for the Active Retirement and Sunbeam Services. It will commence at 11.30am, grandparents are most welcome to attend on the day. New members welcome, why not come along on a Tuesday morning at 11am and check us out.

Walking  group in the Brockagh

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendalough area for approximately one hour. All ages and abilities are welcome. If you would like to set up a walking group in Wicklow contact us on for more information.

High Intensity Fitness Dane (H.I.F.D)                                                                                                                                                       

Just pop in on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the Brockagh Centre to dance your socks off with Adam and the class in cardio exercise dancing, dropping those extra calories. You do not need to be a good dancer or very fit, dance at your own pace and enjoy the music. You can contact Adam on 083 3057949 for information.

Evening Yoga with Viva   

Viva’s yoga classes are for beginners to advance on Wednesdays at 7pm in the Brockagh Centre. Wear comfortable clothes on the night and bring a blanket. Mats are available on the night. You can contact Viva on 086 3409629 for more information.

Citizen’s Information Clinic       

The Citizens Information Centre at the Brockagh Resource Centre is open for information relating to your rights and entitlements from 10 am until noon on the first and third Tuesday of each month. No appointment is necessary for this free and confidential service.
