West Wicklow Sinn Fein select Local Election candidate

Speaking after the first of Wicklow Sinn Fein’s selection conventions took place in Baltinglass last week, local representative Aidan Kinsella said that he was honoured to be selected again to stand in the forthcoming 2019 local elections:

Mr Kinsella said:

“This is the second time the local Sinn Fein membership organisation have selected me to stand to represent the party in West Wicklow. I was personally delighted to see such huge numbers attend the convention and quite humbled by the massive endorsement I received. I have been privileged to serve as a Sinn Fein representative for the area over the last few years, we have tripled our membership since the last council elections and our team have been working hard for the local community all across West Wicklow and beyond.  I look forward to continuing to represent the needs of the local people and I will work hard to deliver a Sinn Fein council seat in the area.”

The Sinn Fein TD for Wicklow and East Carlow Teachta  John Brady said that he was personally delighted to welcome his colleague Aidan Kinsella on board as the party’s candidate in the area:

“Aidan has worked very hard for years in the West Wicklow area, from Blessington to Carnew. I have been very impressed by his efforts, particularly his success in securing funds of €125,000 to build a state of the art playground in Carnew.  His popularity reaches well beyond the boundaries of West Wicklow and his work ethic when it comes to assisting the local community is unmatched. When elected I have full confidence that he will contribute immensely in the council chamber. As part of the Sinn Fein council team he will be a valuable asset in our continuing effort to represent the needs of all Wicklow constituents and in holding local government to account.”
