Tuesday 12th December at 8pm, Glen View Hotel: An illustrated presentation by Andrew Power on the ‘Wildlife of Transylvania, Romania’ focusing on butterflies and birds. We head to the Romanian province of Transylvania for this talk, a region steeped in myth, folklore and superb wildlife. Stepping foot in Transylvania for the first time Andrew describes it “like travelling back in time…and it really emphasised how much wilderness (the rest of) Europe has lost to development and intensive agriculture. The fields and woods here are alive – buzzing crickets, singing Corncrakes, hooting Owls and barking deer!.”
