A Meeting of the County Wicklow IFA Farm Family Committee will take place on Tuesday, 30th January in the Woodenbridge Hotel at 8pm.

Our speaker this month is David Malloney who will speak to us on First Aid in the Farmyard and show us how to deal with some  accidents that can occur. Farm safety cannot be over-emphasised and this is a worthwhile evening in alerting people given the accidents that occur every year on farms. We extend a warm welcome to all IFA members and their families. There is a cup of tea/coffee after the meeting where people can have a chat and get to know one another. Why not come along and enjoy the evening.

Open Afternoon at Avoca National School.

Avoca National School will be holding an Open Afternoon on Saturday, 3rd of February from 2 to 4 p.m. Avoca is a co-educational school, serving a rural community. The school is presently operating single stream classes while retaining the small country school atmosphere. The school has an excellent choir with participants from Third Class upwards. Sport also features significantly in the day to day programme at Avoca National School. This school offers a varied and comprehensive list of after-school activities such as football, tin-whistle and French. The school also offers a coding module to all children from Second to Sixth classes.

If your child is ready to start primary school in September 2018 or if you are moving to our local area in the near future, we are more than happy to show you around our fantastic school at a time that suits you.  I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised with what we can offer your child. All are welcome to come and join us for this open afternoon. Should you have any further queries, please email the school office at avocans@hotmail.com or have a look at our website www.avocaschool.ie
