Slow Session

Traditional Music played slower in Meitheal on Wednesday February 7th at 7pm . All welcome.

Sympathy – is extended to Raymond and Suzanne Cummins (Sparrow Rd) and the Cummins family on the death of Raymond’s mother Eleanor who passed away peacefully in Cork last Sunday. May Eleanor Rest in Peace.

Sympathy also to the O’ Reilly family on the death of their aunt Mary Lyons in Terenure last week. Mary was a sister of the late Larry O ‘Reilly . May Mary rest in peace.

Seomra – An exciting new Community Space “Seomra” has been developed by the Dunlavin Parents Group in the Imaal Hall.  These rooms are available to be used for a variety of purposes.  You are invited to come along on Sunday, January 28th from 2pm-4pm for the grand opening. Your input and suggestions on how this space can benefit you, local groups and our community would be gratefully appreciated. Crib Donations – for this year, totalling €893 will be donated to Friedreich’s Ataxia Research. Thank you for your support.


Lourdes Pilgrimage – If anyone is interested in a Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes could you please contact the parish office on 045-401871. Thank you.


Scoil Niocláis Naofa – Applications for enrolment to our Junior Infants class for this coming September 2018 are now being accepted. Enrolment forms are available from the school office or pre-enrolment is also available on our school website www.snndunlavin.com. Forms should be returned to the school office by Friday, February 2nd.


Culture Bus – will leave Dunlavin on April 14th at 12 noon to go to Matilda the musical in the Bord Gais theatre at 2.30pm. If you wish to travel on the bus please let me know on 087-9693960. You need to book your own tickets for the show. Bus will leave Dublin at 6pm to return home. Spread the word. Thank you.


Clothes Collection – If you have any unwanted bags of clothes please drop them to Mary Brett-Kelly, Donard 0863047659 or Catriona Miley 0879453094, Dunlavin, in aid of Westside Community Games. Items required are listed on the Church notice board. Please support.


GAA – Club membership is now due €60 for players, €40 for students, €20 for U18 players and €20 for non-playing members, please contact Louise for membership forms. Keep up to date on Dunlavin GAA and St Nicholas juvenile facebook pages.


Donard Glen Camogie Club – will hold a table quiz this Friday, January 26th at

9:30pm in Toomey’s Donard.  A table of 4 costs €30.


The Camphill Farm-shop – opens every Thursday in Grangebeg from 1pm-5.30pm lots of fresh organic vegetables and eggs for sale.

West Wicklow Cancer Support – Drop-in meeting is on Thur, 25th Jan at 7.30pm in the Coimin Centre, Blessington. Una Gill will lead the meeting and will focus on flowers which are inspirational. All are welcome and feel free to bring a friend.


GAA News

Dunlavin Gaa Lotto Results – January 15th .

There was no winner of the latest jackpot . Numbers drawn were 15,18,20,26. Congratulations to our four match three winners Jean Huntley, Jimmy Whittle, Billy Walsh and Theresa Lee  who receive €65each .Promoters prize went to Winnie Nolan  .Next draw is Monday January 22nd . Jackpot will be €8200 . We thank you for you continued support and to all those who help sell tickets and organise the draw .

The annual used clothes collection is still in place and will be collected shortly from the clubhouse . Please drop up any unwanted clothes , shoes and bedlinen to the clubhouse until 23rd jan .

Sympathy is extended to Lilly Cleary and family on the recent death of Lilly’s sister Frances Murphy. Frances funeral took place in Hacketstown. May Frances rest in peace.

Sympathy is extended to  the English  family Loughmogue on the death of Mary;s husband Frank Gill.  Frank’s funeral took place in Dublin  May Frank rest in peace.


Dunlavin Friendship Club

The friendship club meet in the Parish Centre on Fridays from  3-5pm. All new members welcome. If you have a neighbour or relative that might benefit from the club please bring them along.


Music Lessons

Music lessons in Donard National school on Thurs at 8pm – tin whistle, flute, fiddle, banjo, concertina, accordion. Beginners welcome


Line Dancing

Line Dancing – continues in the Imaal Hal on Wednesdays from 8pm-10pm at a cost of only €6. New beginners are welcome, so come along learn a new skill and join the craic!



John Brady TD will hold a clinic in Dunlavin parish centre on the 2nd Monday of each month from 11.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome to drop in.


Used Postage Stamps

Please keep your used postage stamps for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office any time. Thank you to all who have donated stamps throughout the past year.
