Gardaí have confirmed they are investigating a break-in to the church in Glenealy, County Wicklow.
The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between Thursday at 8pm and Saturday at 3pm.
The vestry, a room used for changing garments and as an office, was completely ransacked and thrashed by the intruders.
Gardaí have said that a small amount of cash was stolen from the church.
There has also been a number of break-ins last week in the Glenealy and Ashford area, but it is not known if these crimes are connected.
