Yes, it is that time of year again, Ireland’s National Day is fast approaching !!
This year’s Greystones Parade will be bigger and better with you help.
Application forms and details are now available at Greystones Municipal District.
Please contact 2876694 or email GreystonesMD@wicklowcoco.ie.
As usual, there will be a Window Display Competition held in conjunction with the Parade.
Local businesses and organisations, please decorate your windows for our National Day.
No application is needed for the Window Display Competition.
All decorated premises will be inspected and judged by an independent panel of judges.

Rachel now goes forward to the national competition on 20 January 2018.
Reminder to save your unwanted toys and personal items for children and teenagers.
Just about anything is welcome and will be accepted.
Please remember items must be new, due to risk of infection.
Items will go to Crumlin’s Bundle of Fun, which is Rachel’s project for her nomination.
Crumlin’s Bundle of Fun is a great idea.
As a survivor of childhood leukaemia, Rachel knows what it is like to be in hospital.

Greystones Archaeological and Historical Society Talk

The Life and Times of JB Malone by Michael Fewer.
JB Malone was the founder of the Wicklow Way.
He was also a map-maker, soldier, historian and author.
Michael Fewer has written extensively on walking, rambling and wildlife in Ireland.

The JB Malone talk will be of interest to local historians.
Plus walkers and anyone interested in the history and environment of the Wicklow mountains.

Whale Theatre: No WiFi Presents

No WiFi Presents is a screening of selected short films.
Films from the award winning North Wicklow Filmmakers.
The group was established in late 2016.
Group is made up primarily of cast and crew drawn from Bray to Arklow.
Many are graduates of various film schools or working as full time actors.
Six members have been working on Vikings, Series 6, in various departments.
Camera, make up, props, marine crew and background actors.
In 2018, the group will be working on a new web series.
They will submit some of their work that is currently in post production to film festivals.
Pre-production work will also commence on a feature film to shoot in 2019.
This is an opportunity to see excellent work from some of our local filmmakers !!

Alexei Ratmansky, former artistic director of the Bolshoi Ballet, stages this production.
He gives it a dramatic urgency and a fresh re-telling of Shakespeare’s beloved classic.
His brilliant and detailed adaptation is set to Prokofiev’s romantic and cinematic score.
It re-ignites the story of literature’s most celebrated star crossed lovers.
And it does so like no other classical ballet choreographer today.

Hot Spot Music Club: Jazz Jam Workshop
King’s Call for the Homeless: Celebration of Phil Lynott
Above the Beach House at Greystones Harbour Marina.
All jazz instrumentalists and singers are welcome.
This is a great opportunity to play with other jazz musicians.
Or just come along to watch.
Please arrive early to sign in and ensure that you get a chance to play.
To take part, you need to be able to play at least one tune.
And then improvise over it.
Jazz standards like those from the Real Book series: iRealPro app.
Piano, drum kit, mics, amps are in the venue.
But Musicians are advised to bring their own amps and music stands.
This is a regular jazz jam session.
Purpose is to develop, encourage and bring together jazz community.
Jazz community in Greystones, Wicklow and beyond.
