This is a “Noble Call” style of singers’ circle.

Each person is called upon to (nobly) perform.

Part of the nationwide Give Us a Song campaign in aid of cancer research.

In memory of local woman Caroline Dwyer Hickey.

There will also be a raffle !!

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE 2018

Yes,  it is that time of year again, Ireland’s National Day is fast approaching !!

This year’s Greystones Parade will be bigger and better with you help.

Application forms and details are now available at Greystones Municipal District.

Please contact 2876694 or email GreystonesMD@wicklowcoco.ie.

As usual,  there will be a Window Display Competition held in conjunction with the Parade.

Local businesses and organisations,  please decorate your windows for our National Day.

No application is needed for the Window Display Competition.

All decorated premises will be inspected and judged by an independent panel of judges.

Application forms and full details of criteria are now available.

Closing date is 21 March 2018.

There is limited availability of funding.

Fully completed applications must be received on time.

Necessary supporting documentation must accompany the application.

Late applications will not be considered and will be returned.

Greystones Cancer Support is continuing to collect for Crumlin’s Bundle of Fun.

Items for babies,  children and teens in hospital may be left with GCS on La Touche Place.

There is still time,  if you have not been able to contribute to date.

GCS can collect items if that is easier for you.

Hot Spot Music Club:  Niwel Tsumbu with Eamonn Cagney

Virtuoso guitarist and singer Niwel Tsumbu and percussionist Eamon Cagney feature.

They embark on an Irish tour previewing and premiering new music.

They have an upcoming album release.

Both intimate and elaborate,  expect a musical river:  classical to Central Africa + beyond.

The duo have worked and travelled the world together for ten years.

They have worked with a wide variety of famous musicians and theatre companies.

Their new music has been a year in the making.

It will be premiered on this Irish spring tour.

Then comes the album release and international performances in 2018.

Irish German Society of County Wicklow General Meeting

Guest Speaker Archbishop Diarmuid Martin

Bray Town Hall;  7:30 p.m.

This will be the first meeting of the Society in 2018.

Guest Speaker will be Archbishop Diarmuid Martin who spoke in Wurzburg last July.

Dr. Martin was a guest of the Diocese of Wurzburg on the Feast of St. Kilian.

He spoke,  fluently in German,  to a wide and varied general audience.

His topic was The Challenge for the Church in the 21st Century.

Representatives from the Irish German Society were in attendance at the talk.

 

Society Members and also non Members are very welcome to come along.
