Rathdrum lady wins car in Gorey Credit Union draw

Gorey Credit Union’s First Rathdrum Car Draw Winner

As luck would have it, Gorey Credit Union’s 80th car draw, first of our FOUR December car draws, went to Lorna Driver in Rathdrum. We are delighted to see a Wicklow member win, as in mid-2017, our common bond area in Co. Wicklow doubled. It now stretches from South Bray down past Curracloe, covering most of Co. Wicklow, & North Wexford. It is great to see winners from different areas, we had an Arklow winner in April 2017. We wish Lorna Safe & Happy motoring in her brand new Peugeot 2008. At just €5 per Month for the draw, it was an inexpensive car!

As you can imagine, the name ‘Gorey Credit Union Ltd.’ over the door in 3 Wicklow branches is not a perfect fit. To assist us to continue to grow and develop in all areas, we will soon be changing the name to  ‘Altura Credit Union Ltd.’ (pending Central Bank approval). A motion to change the name was passed at our recent AGM. This name was chosen to represent the growth that this Credit Union has, and is experiencing (rising elevation), while acknowledging the achievements of the past and to recognise the heights (altitude) we must strive to achieve both now and into the future for our thriving Credit Union. Altura can also mean dignified, noble & at different stages. The many interpretations of this are one of the reasons this was chosen. We can effectively market Altura Credit Union Ltd. without geographical restriction.
