Separate weather warnings issued for the coming days

Met Eireann has issued a status orange weather warning nationwide, with heavy fog set to cause disruption for a time tonight.

Motorists are advised to take extreme care for the remainder of the night, with dense fog set to reduce visibility significantly in many parts.

Meanwhile, Wicklow Weather has also issued a separate alert for heavy wind and rain tomorrow.

According to the Aughrim based forecaster, heavy rain will move in tomorrow afternoon with persistent rainfall likely in most parts.

Winds are also likely to increase on eastern coasts tomorrow with gusts of 75km + likely and the heavy, persistent rain is expected to last into Saturday morning.

Next week is expected to remain cold, with the possibility of snow in parts of the country.

“Its a wait and see game for the moment but the fact is that three leading models seem to agree on some sort of wintry event but the details are far from pinned down.”
