Dunlavin’s Family Fashion Show.

This fundraiser will take place on March 23rd, 2018 in Rathsallagh Golf Club and once again we would like to take this opportunity to thank you most sincerely for your support with all our fundraising over the last four years, and to ask that you might consider supporting this event.

Tickets will go on sale this weekend for €20. Available from the Parish Office and the Committee Members. We will also be calling to your house over the few weeks.  There is a Prize on the night for the “Best dressed Lady & Gentleman in the Audience” so get those “Glad Rags” out and you just might be surprised!!!!

We are producing a brochure and are looking for you to consider sponsoring an advert.  Advertisements: €50 per page – €30 for half page.

We will also be having a raffle and the cards will be in the local business’s in the town next week. €2 per line or 3 lines for €5.

If you can support this fundraiser we would be most grateful.

 

Dunlavin Community First Responders – are looking to recruit new members to join our team of responders. You don’t need to have any first aid skills as full training will be given. All we require is that you be 18+, have your own transport, be available to attend monthly training sessions and commit some time to a rota. Initial training will take place on Sunday 25th February. Social Dancing

Social Dancing will take place in the Imaal Hall in Friday February 9th at 9.30 pm.to 12am. Music by Willie and Cathy Kavanagh. Admission €8. All welcome. Future dates February 16th Music by The Wicklow Man, March 16th with Pat Costello.

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the Carroll family , Milltown on the death of  Betty. Betty was the wife of the late Bill, and mother of the late Billy and Myles, (Tragically 1973). Deeply regretted by her loving sons and daughters, Kit, Robert, Breda, John, Stephen, Margaret, Ger and Collette, her sister Kitty and brother Bob, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Betty’s funeral Mass took place in Dunlavin on on Friday 26th January 2018

Burial afterwards in Dunlavin Cemetery.

 

Ceili Mor

A ceili mor will take place in Donard Hall on February 16th at 9pm. This is a fundraiser for the Patient Comfort Fund in Baltinglass Hospital. Donations and raffle prizes would be welcome.

 

Community Health and Wellbeing Programme

This programme will commence on Monday February 12th  and will run for 5 weeks .Each monday will cover a different topic. Week 1 Understanding and promotiong Positive Mental Health. Week 2 Self Esteem. Week 3 Building Resilience. Week 4 Managing Stress and Anxiety. Week 5 Suicide awareness . The course is supported by Grow and is free to attend. Candle Light Walk

A candle light walk on the 11th February at 5.30, it will take an hour starting at Davidstown and finishing at Davidstown old school. Children are free adults E5.00.  It’s a fundraiser for the roof of Davidstown old school. Also a cup of tea after the walk for anyone

Dunlavin Breastfeeding Support Group

This group meet in the Parish Centre every Tuesday from 10am to 12 noon. Details from Alice on 0851699425.

Slow Session

Traditional Music played slower in Meitheal on Wednesday February 7th at 7pm . All welcome.

Seomra – An exciting new Community Space “Seomra” has been developed by the Dunlavin Parents Group in the Imaal Hall.  These rooms are available to be used for a variety of purposes.   Enquiries please to dunlavinonline@gmail.com

 

Lourdes Pilgrimage – If anyone is interested in a Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes in September could you please contact the parish office on 045-401871. Thank you.

 

Scoil Niocláis Naofa – Applications for enrolment to our Junior Infants class for this coming September 2018 are now being accepted. Enrolment forms are available from the school office or pre-enrolment is also available on our school website www.snndunlavin.com.

 

 

Clothes Collection – If you have any unwanted bags of clothes please drop them to Mary Brett-Kelly, Donard 0863047659 or Catriona Miley 0879453094, Dunlavin, in aid of Westside Community Games. Items required are listed on the Church notice board. Please support.

 

The Camphill Farm-shop – opens every Thursday in Grangebeg from 1pm-5.30pm lots of fresh organic vegetables and eggs for sale.

GAA Membership

 

Club membership is now due €60 for players , €40 for students , €20 for U18 players and €20 for non playing members  , please contact Louise Allen for membership forms .

Dunlavin Friendship Club

The friendship club meet in the Parish Centre on Fridays from  3-5pm. All new members welcome. If you have a neighbour or relative that might benefit from the club please bring them along.

 

Music Lessons

Music lessons in Donard National school on Thurs at 8pm – tin whistle, flute, fiddle, banjo, concertina, accordion. Beginners welcome. Instuments available to borrow.

 

 

Line Dancing

Line Dancing – continues in the Imaal Hal on Wednesdays from 8pm-10pm at a cost of only €6. New beginners are welcome, so come along learn a new skill and join the craic!

 

Clinic

John Brady TD will hold a clinic in Dunlavin parish centre on the 2nd Monday of each month from 11.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome to drop in.

 

 

Used Postage Stamps

 

Please keep your used postage stamps for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office any time. Thank you to all who have donated stamps throughout the past year.
