Up for an Academy Award in March, and one of the most acclaimed films to come out of the US in the past year, The Florida Project launches the rejuvenated Greystones Film Club on February 22nd.

Boasting his third Oscar nomination, Willem Dafoe stars alongside newcomers Brooklyn Prince and Bria Vinaite in this moving drama about a young mother and her six-year-old daughter trying to make the most of their Magic Castle motel lives, nestled in the shadow of Walt Disney World Florida.

The Greystones Film Club is delighted to introduce its New Breed strand of the big screen’s most daring and celebrated new releases – especially given The Whale’s larger-than-life screen, surround sound, waiter service, tables and chairs, concession stand and full bar offering a unique and distinctly boutique night out at the pictures.

Theatre Club: We Don’t Know What’s Buried Here -Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray – 8pm

Tina and Bernadette are digging a hole in the ground. They dig everyday, methodically, looking for what has been hidden from them. They are Magdalene Ghosts. They heard about Tuam on the radio. One of them is digging to find her baby’s bones, the other is digging to expose the truth.

Should they keep digging? Or is it better to leave the truth under the ground, where it belongs?

This is a vitriolic new play by Grace Dyas about class, value and work with support from Dublin Honours Magdalene’s, Jobstown Not Guilty and Senator Lynn Ruane.

Tickets €16 or €14 concessions. For booking: http://www.mermaidartscentre.ie/events/details/we-dont-know-whats-buried-here-theatreclub

David O’Doherty: Big Time (24th February) – Whale Theatre, Greystones

** This event is SOLD OUT. Waiting List **

They call him Aldi Bublé. They call him The Ryanair Enya. Most importantly though, they call him David O’Doherty.

And he might just be the funniest Irish comedian alive. Or thereabouts.

Yep, the man with the Casio keyboard and the caustic yet cuddly comic take on this crazy little thing called life is coming to Greystones.

Just back from an American jaunt alongside Flight Of The Conchords and his largest-ever UK tour, David O’Doherty has, of course, been building up to his Greystones debut pretty much all his life.

So, this is one night of comedy you’re unlikely to forget. For at least 20 minutes.
