Wicklow manager John Evans has advised his players to respond positively to last weekend’s defeat to London in Division Four of the Allianz Football League.
The Garden County were thoroughly beaten by the Exiles in Ruislip last Sunday, with Liam Gavaghan scoring 1-7 in a 1-16 to 0-10 win for the Londoners.
Evans’ men must now turn their attentions to Antrim, a county that have been unbeaten in the Division Four campaign up to this point.
Despite his side having to face Antrim, Laois and Carlow in the next four weeks – the top three teams in the division – Evans feels that they will be a challenge for anyone they play if they can lift themselves following last weekend’s defeat.
Speaking to the Wicklow People, Evans said: “It’s about establishing a new team, bringing in a lot of young players and giving them experience.
“While we were disappointed with the result on Sunday we will look at the first game first which is against Antrim on Sunday and I certainly will be hoping for a good reaction after the loss against London.”
