Carnew notes week March 19th

Tinahely Walks

On Sunday March 25 we are walking from Glendalough to Glenmalure, Grade B+, 15k, 4 hours. Meeting at Tinahely 10.00 or Glenmalure Lodge 10.45 (and getting a minibus to Glendalough).

On Sunday April Fools Day we are doing Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. Alternatively, members are advised to stay at home and enjoy Easter Sunday with their families and bunnies.

Please ensure to wear proper walking boots, to bring adequate food & drink and to pack (or wear) rain gear.


Carnew Emmetts GAA club are holding a table quiz on Friday 23rd March in The Lodge, Carnew at 9.30pm sharp, table of four €40, all welcome.


The winner of Scoil Aodan Naofa Carnew Split the Pot of 9th March was Bradly  Cleary winning €314, tickets only €2 from the school or local shops, many thanks to everyone for their support to date.


Carnew GAA lotto was not won, numbers were 3,4,24,31, lucky dips were Megan Rosney, Donishal. Christy O’Neill, c/o Din Doran. Billy Wilson c/o Tom Culkin. Joe Whelan, c/o Din Doran, the next draw is 26th March in The Lodge, Carnew and the jackpot is 10,600.


Congratulations to Bill and Betty Whelan, Valley Heights who are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

Ballyellis National School

The Winner of this weeks “Split the Pot” is  Ashling and Amber Walsh, Donishall  winning €221. Congratulations  Ashling and Amber.

Envelopes can be obtained from the School or any Parent and from Ashling Walsh after weekend Masses in Askamore Church.

Draws will take place every Friday morning in Ballyellis School.
