National Theatre Encore at the Whale Theatre: Hamlet

The Whale Theatre in Greystones is joining forces with London’s National Theatre for an encore screening of Hamlet.

Seen by over 750,000 people worldwide,  Shakespeare’s Hamlet will once again be broadcast live to the Whale Theatre, showcasing the finest productions the West-End has to offer.

Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC’s SherlockThe Imitation Game) takes on the title role in this production of Shakespeare’s great tragedy.

“As a country arms itself for war, a family tears itself apart. Forced to avenge his father’s death but paralysed by the task ahead, Hamlet rages against the impossibility of his predicament, threatening both his sanity and the security of the state.”

Directed by Lyndsey Turner (Posh, Chimerica) and produced by Sonia Friedman Productions.
