Forecast from Wicklow Weather
Further fractured snow showers this afternoon and evening heaviest in Leinster and east Munster and south and east Ulster.
These will become more localised in nature and it remains a nowcast situation as radar showing no let up in areas of Leinster as of 1330hrs. (South Wicklow where I am based continues to see heavy snow as we speak with 16cm on the flat and 40cm drifts). Where showers begin to ease a quick thaw ill occur in any direct sunshine.
A very cold night ahead with further fractured snow showers possible but they should become isolated in nature. Lows of 0c to -4c and where snow accumulations have occurred values could drop to -6c/-7c.
A severe frost where skies clear overnight turning slush, snow and melt water into ice. Extreme care on secondary road networks. Essential travel only in worst effected areas.
Further isolated fractured showers of sleet and snow. A reasonable thaw is expected tomorrow afternoon.
An extremely cold night tomorrow night with lows of -2c near coasts to -8c in inland locations. Another severe frost will cause extremely challenging conditions during the Tuesday morning commute with widespread black ice from any thaw.
AVOID ALL UPLAND ROAD NETWORKS.
