The “Beast” is back

The county woke up this morning to another fall of snow.

As predicted the “Beast from the East” has returned.

Wicklow Weather advise Extreme care on road networks today.

Some heavy embedded bands of snow moving into Leinster, east Ulster and east Munster lowering visibility in blizzard like conditions.
A bitterly cold day ahead with feel like temps of -4c to -8c in a strong easterly gusting to 90kmh.

Some isolated thunder-snow activity possible. This could lead to isolated power outages. Parts of Wicklow Town and surrounding areas are without electricity, the ESB hope to have power restored by 10.30am.


AVOID ALL UPLAND ROAD NETWORKS AND KEEP AWAY FROM CLIFFS AND PIERS AT COASTAL AREAS.

Dublin Airport has said that it is fully operational this morning despite snowfall overnight.

Wicklow v Limerick Match off – it is now refixed for tomorrow same time – call will be made later tonight.
