Two men have been arrested and guns and ammunition has been seized by Gardaí who believe they have stopped a murder attempt on a member of the Hutch family living in Co Wexford.
Shortly before 1am, Gardaí from Enniscorthy backed up by Armed Response Units challenged a number of men exiting cars in a field at Millans in Gorey.
A 27-year old man was arrested as he got out of a car, and another 25-year old man was found hiding during a follow-up search.
The men, who have addresses in Dublin’s North inner city, are currently being held in custody in Enniscorthy and Gorey Garda Stations.
It is understood that a member of the Hutch family was the target.
Two firearms and ammunition were seized at the scene, as well as three vehicles.
