Additional €250,000 for construction of the new Wicklow Hospice

Wicklow TD, Simon Harris has announced an additional €250,000 for the construction of the new Wicklow Hospice at Magheramore .

The Wicklow TD is a long time supporter of the Wicklow Hospice project and in his role as Minister for Health secured €1 million in November to move the project to the next stage.

Earlier this month Evanne Cahill of the Wicklow Hospice Foundation announced the sod turning ceremony and it is expected the 15-room hospice will be taking residents at the end of 2019.

Minister Harris met with some of the Wicklow Hospice team over the weekend and confirmed the good news:

“I was really delighted to be able to confirm the additional €250,000 for the Wicklow Hospice. We are very close to turning the sod on this project now so it is really fantastic that it is all moving so well.

“Wicklow Hospice is a really important issue in Co Wicklow and I am really delighted to be able to help them in any way that I can. I look forward to the sod turning and seeing the building opening.”
