Playground

Annacurra Community Playground Project

A public meeting was held on Monday 9th April, it was wonderful to see such a great turn out. It would appear the interest and support is in the community for us to go ahead and build a playground.

A lot of work has gone on in the background and we are very lucky to have secured a lease of a piece of land that is in the centre of the village. Thank you to Fr. Sheridan for all his support with this.  The playground will  be situated to the rear of the school at the entrance of The Ciaran Shannon Walk.

Also, thank you to Pat Kennedy for his continued support.

As a result of the meeting on Monday a committee has been formed to bring this project through the next phase.  The committee members are Chairperson – Veronica O’Flaherty, Vice Chairperson – Linda Hannay, Secretary – Niamh Armstrong, Vice Secretary – Fainche Murphy, Treasurer – Denise Byrne and PRO – Sara Horan Byrne.  We will keep you updated on progress, fundraising, and will need the help and support from thec whole community to make this a success.  This has the potential to be a great project which will result in an excellent asset for our community
