Dunlavin notes week April 16th

Sympathy – is extended to John O’Donnell (Teacher in Scoil Nicoláis Naofa) and family on the recent death of John’s father Martin, who passed away in Wexford last week. May he Rest in Peace.

 

Dunlavin Family Fashion Show – Just to update you on the fundraiser. We have made €10,920.00 at this event. A huge thanks to anyone who helped in anyway with this event. If you put an advert in our brochure and have not paid, we would appreciate it if you could drop it to Fr. Douglas or the Parish Office. All sponsorship in the brochure will be acknowledged by letter in the next week or so. So, our Loan will be cleared on the 2nd June and we would like to say thanks for all the support with our fundraisers

 

St. Pio’s Glove – will be in the home of Betty Malone, Shindella, Rathangan on Sunday, 29th of April 2018 from 11am to 5pm.  Contact Betty at 045-525094. Items of St. Pio will be on sale on the day.  Everyone is welcome.

 

Church Shop – we now have a lovely selection of items in stock including Confirmation and Communion cards, Rosettes, Rosary beads, Necklaces and Pins. All items are available from the Church and Parish office at very competitive prices.

Festival of Arts

The next meeting wil take place in Seomra in the Imaal Hall this Saturday April 21st. At 12,30. All welcome. This years festival takes place on June 15th to 17th.

Meals on Wheels – Dunlavin – are looking for volunteers to help out with on a Tuesday morning. It works on a monthly rota, cooking or driving. All help would be greatly appreciated. 4-week Hair & Makeup course in Seomra (Imaal Hall). Further details are available on the Church notice board.

 

Daffodil Day – St. Brigid’s Hospice, The Curragh would like to thank the sellers and everyone who contributed to Daffodil day, a grand total of €1,620 was raised.

 

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the family of Sarah O’ Brien (Nee Humphries) who died suddenly. Sarah who was predeceased by her son Ciaran is mourned by her husband John, sons John, David and Dclan and many relatives and friends. Sarah’s funeral took place in Crookstown on Monday April 2nd 2018. May Sarah rest in peace.

Traditional Music played slower in Meitheal on Wednesday May 2nd at 7pm . All welcome.

The Camphill Farm-shop – opens every Thursday in Grangebeg from 1pm-5.30pm lots of fresh organic vegetables and eggs for sale.

 

Dunlavin Friendship Club

The friendship club meet in the Parish Centre on Fridays from  3-5pm. All new members welcome. If you have a neighbour or relative that might benefit from the club please bring them along.

 

Line Dancing

Line Dancing – continues in the Imaal Hal on Wednesdays from 8pm-10pm at a cost of only €6. New beginners are welcome, so come along learn a new skill and join the craic!

 

Clinic

John Brady TD will hold a clinic in Dunlavin parish centre on the 2nd Monday of each month from 11.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome to drop in.

 

Used Postage Stamps

Please keep your used postage stamps for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office any time. Thank you to all who have donated stamps throughout the past year.
