Social Dancing

A social dance will take place in aid of Hollywood Senior Citizens on May 19th  in Hollywood Hall. Music by Images. Dancing 9.30 to 12. admission €10. All welcome.

 

Mini Fleadh

The 61st annual mini Fleadh will take place on May 1st at 9pm in Donard Hall. All welcome.

 

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the Byrne Family , Fryanstown on the death of their aunt Frances Bradshaw. Frances was predeceased by her husband Dennis, her remains were interred in Dunlavin on April 20th 2018 . May she rest in peace.

Sympathy to Declan Murray and family on the death of his mother Bernadette. Bernadette’s funeral took pace in Dublin. May she rest in peace.

Sympathy is extended to the Owens family on the death of Mark Owens. Mark is the son of Mary and the late Michael Owens. Mark’s funeral took place in Dublin. May Mark rest in peace.

 

Epilepsy Ireland – held their Annual Church Gate Collection the weekend of April 7th & 8th. A total of €295 was raised and your support was gratefully appreciated.

 

Dunlavin Soccer Club – held a Church Gate collection at all Masses last weekend. A total of €325 was collected and your support was most welcomed.

 

Race Night – a race night in aid of Anthony Doran (son of Kathleen & Tommy Doran) will be held in Burkes pub on May 26th from 9pm. Horses are on sale at €10 from Bridgid Joyce, Jimmy Whittle or the Parish office. Please support!

 

Dunlavin Flower & Garden Club – would like to thank everyone who supported their recent benefit night in aid of St. Bridgid’s Hospice. The grand total of €700 was raised by all who attended and donated towards the night.

 

Seomra – (Imaal Hall) – A FREE Pop Up Coffee/Tea Morning will be held this Monday, April 23rd from 9-11am. Please call in for a cuppa, everyone is welcome!

 

Meals on Wheels – Dunlavin – are looking for volunteers to help out with on a Tuesday morning. It works on a monthly rota, cooking or driving. All help would be greatly appreciated. If you are interested, please contact Margaret Lynott 087- 9693960 or Laura Andrews. Thank you.

 

St. Pio’s Glove – will be in the home of Betty Malone, Shindella, Rathangan on Sunday, 29th of April 2018 from 11am to 5pm.  Contact Betty at 045-525094. Items of St. Pio will be on sale on the day.  Everyone is welcome.

 

Church Shop – we now have a lovely selection of items in stock including Confirmation and Communion cards, Rosettes, Rosary beads, Necklaces and Pins. All items are available from the Church and Parish office at very competitive prices.

 

West Wicklow Cancer Support – Drop-in meeting is on Thursday 26th April at 7.30pm in the Coimin Centre, Main St., Blessington. The theme of the evening, which will be presented by Una Gill is: – A meditation for Creativity and Renewal using Flower Visualisation. All are welcome and feel free to bring a friend.

 

Dunlavin GAA – Get practicing your swings! The golf classic will be held on the 16th June in Baltinglass, more details to follow. Keep up to date on all your GAA news on Facebook and Instagram, thank you all for your continued support.

Forum

It has come to the time of year for our Annual General Meeting. Dunlavin & District Forum plays an instrumental part in the fabric of our community and we strive to bring improvements to our community and build upon the great work previously done.

 

Dunlavin & District Forum can only benefit from having an input from a wide and varied group of people, representing all sectors of our community and to this end we now seek nominations for the committee of Dunlavin & District Forum for 2018-2019.

Sympathy – is extended to John O’Donnell (Teacher in Scoil Nicoláis Naofa) and family on the recent death of John’s father Martin, who passed away in Wexford last week. May he Rest in Peace.

 

Dunlavin Family Fashion Show – Just to update you on the fundraiser. We have made €10,920.00 at this event. A huge thanks to anyone who helped in anyway with this event. If you put an advert in our brochure and have not paid, we would appreciate it if you could drop it to Fr. Douglas or the Parish Office. All sponsorship in the brochure will be acknowledged by letter in the next week or so. So, our Loan will be cleared on the 2nd June and we would like to say thanks for all the support with our fundraisers

Festival of Arts

The next meeting will take place in Seomra in the Imaal Hall  Saturday  May 5th at 12,30. All welcome. This years festival takes place on June 15th to 17th. The festival will be officially opened by popular horse trainer Jessica Harrington.

Line Dancing

Line Dancing – continues in the Imaal Hal on Wednesdays from 8pm-10pm at a cost of only €6. New beginners are welcome, so come along learn a new skill and join the craic!

John Brady TD will hold a clinic in Dunlavin parish centre on the 2nd Monday of each month from 11.30am to 12.30pm. All welcome to drop in.

 

Used Postage Stamps

Please keep your used postage stamps for St. Patrick’s Missions, Kiltegan who can use them to fundraise. Used stamps can be dropped into the parish office any time. Thank you to all who have donated stamps throughout the past year.
