Group bio
Following a string of successful showcases at last years SXSW in Austin and several follow-up performances in Toronto for Canada Music Week, former Hybrasil frontman Spud Murphy is making waves once again with his latest musical incarnation, Birds of Olympus.
Hailing from Wicklow, Ireland, the heady psychedelic Birds of Olympus release their debut EP “Wabi – Sabi” Friday April 27th 2018.
The group’s compelling mix of neo-psychedelia and transcendental electronica has been soundtracking acclaimed live performances for little over two years.
Highlights to date include: Supporting; Chaz Bundick Meets The Mattson 2, Jah Wobble, Lift to Experience; Music from Ireland Showcase (SXSW & CMW), headlining The Dublin Quays Festival and selling out Wicklow’s Parish Church for a special once off show.
Should you happen upon these Birds live, take heed – their mismatch of analog synthesizers, hand wired amps and sounds of the cosmos are known to lock bystanders into a mesmeric trance.
