Man shot in connection with missing woman named

The man who was shot in connection with a missing woman in Enniskerry has been named as 40-year-old Mark Hennessy.

Hennessy a father of two was a construction worker living at Woodbrook estate on the Boghall road in Bray.

He was shot by Gardai at Cherrywood in South Dublin around 8pm on Sunday evening.

Gardai have renewed their appeal in the search for Jastine Valdez and are appealing to anyone who may have seen a black Nissan Qashqai with the registration number 171-D-20419, between Saturday evening and 8pm on Sunday.

The 24-year-old Tallaght IT student  has been missing since Saturday.

Her family alerted Gardai she was missing at 11.15pm on Saturday night.

Gardaí received a report of a woman being forced into a car on the road out of the village past the Powerscourt Estate at about 6.15pm on Saturday evening.

Gardai believe she was abducted and are keen to speak to the driver of  a black Nissan Qashqai with the registration number 171-D-20419.

Following an extensive search between Kilcroney Bridge and Charleville House a mobile phone was found which is believed to belong to Ms Valdez.

Ms Valdez is described as being 1.52m (5ft) tall, of slight build with long black hair and brown eyes.

When last seen she was wearing a dark coloured jacket, a white T-shirt, grey leggings and runners.

An incident room has been established at Bray Garda Station and gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 01-6665300, on the Garda Confidential line 1800 666 111 or at any garda station.
