Cllr. Jennifer Whitmore is holding a voter registration drive in Newtownmountkennedy Community Centre tomorrow evening (3rd May) between 6 and 8pm for anyone that has yet to register for the upcoming referendum.
Cllr. Whitmore said “Regardless of your views on the referendum it is really important that people exercise their right to vote. This is a hugely important issue and all voices need to be heard.
“The recent population growth of Newtown means that many people have yet to register in the area and I want to help make it as easy as possible for people to do so. I will have the forms there to enable people to sign onto the supplementary register and a Garda will be available to stamp them.”
Things you will need to bring:
- Current photo ID (passport)
- Proof of address
“Once the forms are signed, I will deliver them to Wicklow County Council so it really couldn’t be simpler for people to register,” Whitemore concluded.
