WICKLOW A.R. INVITATION

Wicklow Active Retirement Group has invited the members of the Roundwood Group to a Variety Concert on Thursday 10th May in the Pastoral Centre from 12 noon – 3 pm.  Names to Betty or Molly.  The Bus will leave Roundwood Parish Hall at 11.30.  Both the concert and the bus are free!

 

CLASSES

Kildare Wicklow ETB are currently advertising for grant funding under the commumity education programme. The Community Council previously facilitated courses on flower arranging, digital photography, IT and art. If you are interested in these or any other courses in the Roundwood area please email info@roundwood.ie. all suggestions welcome.

 

 

OUR LADYS ISLAND

There will be a pilgrimage to Our Lady’s Island on Sunday 19th August leaving Roundwood at 10a.m. from the Parish Hall.  Cost is €65 per person which includes the bus, scones and dinner.  Money and names to Susan at 087 76273032 before 1st August, 2018.

Diamond Bridge Club.

Monica Brady and Brid Clancy played their cards right on Monday 30th April to take 1st place for North/South, 2nd Molly Byrne and Rachel Judd, 3rd Ger Lenihan and Paddy O Brien and Nancy O Brien and Bridie Nolan took 4th  place.  Ist place for East/West went to Maua Gaskin and Christine Campbell, 2nd Margaret Byrne and Marian Davies, 3rd Clare Sally and Pamela Byrne and 4th John Loscher and Pauric Gleeson.  Prize giving for End of Season will take place on Monday 14th may.

 

002 Bridge Club.

Taking 1st place for North/South on Friday 4th May were Maria Magee and Judy Skates, 2nd Ger Lenihan and Paddy O Brien and 3rd June Digby and  Monica Brady whilst Molly Byrne and Rachel Judd took 4th place.  Victors for East/West were Nancy O  Brien and Jim McNamara, joint 2nd/3rd Kay Plunkett, Mary Murphy, Gertrie Fee and Jane Cronin and 4th Marian Davies and Mary Pierce.  Prize giving for End of Season will take place this Fridaymorning 11th may.

 

BARN DANCE

Moneystown Midsummer Barn Dance and BBQ will take place on 30th June  in Moneystown Community Centre starting at 8pm till late.   Music by the Roamin Cadiliacs and the Whole Hog.   Fully licensed.

 

 

HOME PRODUCERS RE-OPEN

Roundwood Home Producers Market re-opened on Sunday 25th March from 12  noon till 5pm. Come for your home baking, crafts, plants, vegetables and more.  New members always welcome

The Wicklow Man will play in Moneystown Community Centre on Friday 11th May in Moneystown Community Centre from  9.30pm till late.   Teas served, refreshments also available, door prizes.   Come along and enjoy a night of waltzing, jive, linedancing, etc

WALKING GROUP

Not only do the Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group walk for approximately an hour every Wednesday evening, they also have time suss out the progress of the Vartry Walks, have the chat and take a few photos of the fantastic scenery as they go! Some folk walk fast, others slower but the good thing is the group take slightly different routes according to your pace. So no one walks alone & generally all start and finish together! Do come along meeting at 7pm at the Coach House Car Park every Wednesday. All welcome

CEILI DANCING LESSONS

Adult ceili dancing classes are held every Wednesday night in the parish hall from 8 to 9pm. Learn to solo dance and also group dances under the tuition of Aoife, Cian and Eimear and have great fun learning.

 

MORNING BADMINTON

Tuesday morning badminton continues from 9.30am – beginners always welcome. Some rackets are available.

 

MATHS LESSONS
