The Arklow Right to Walk Group are organising a walk later this month.
Anyone wishing to take part in the walk are being asked to meet at the duck pond car park at 1.45pm on Saturday 23rd of June and depart at 2pm sharp for a leisurely stroll to Spion Kop.
The group said
“This is non-political and is NOT a protest and we don’t intend to debate with anybody so no banners, posters or placards please.
The walk is purely intended to highlight the fact that we have a right to walk there and if anybody intends to interfere let them talk to the gardai.
Please bring a high viz jacket if possible and be alert at all times for what is underfoot for your own health and safety.”
The walk has been organised by Arklow Residents Right Of Way (Arrow for short) who are setting up a group to monitor developments and take whatever legal action that is necessary. This group of like minded people have no connection to any political party or organisation.
