Following consultation with the Health Service Executive, Irish Water wishes to advise all customers on the Aughrim Annacurra Water Supply Scheme, that the drinking water restriction notice imposed on 2nd May is now lifted with immediate effect.

A Boil Water Notice was issued due to the detection of Enterococci in the water supply. Irish Water working in partnership with Wicklow County Council consulted with the HSE to ensure that a safe and compliant supply of water was returned to customers as soon as possible.

Following an investigation Irish Water is satisfied that water quality within the supply is fully compliant with the Drinking Water Regulations and is of good quality. Irish Water is now advising customers that the Health Service Executive has approved the lifting of the Boil Water Notice and normal use of the water supply can resume for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.

Irish Water would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused by this incident and thank customers for their patience in complying with this notice. Irish Water and Wicklow County Council acknowledge the patience, cooperation and assistance of the general public during this period.
