Mass of the Angels
Mass of the Angels will be celebrated on next Saturday June 16th at 8pm in Church of the Sacred Heart Aughrim. This special celebration of Mass will be offered for all the families in the locality who have lost a baby due to miscarriage, lost a baby around the time of birth or a child who died young. Hymns during mass will be sung by the Avondale Voices Choir.
Community Games
County Wicklow Track and Field finals will take place next Saturday June 16th in Shillelagh. Please gather for the parade from 9am collecting singlet and label from your coaches. Please wear white t shirt with dark shorts. Bring plenty of water, sun cream ( we hope ) and a picnic. The first place winners from the athletic finals will qualify for the Aldi National Festival in August 17th-19th in UL Limerick.
We would like to wish our young athlete Kevin Moran all the best in the National Special Olympic Finals in Dublin next weekend.
GAA News
Our adult team had a convincing win in the Division 3 league last week defeating Newcastle on 1-17 to 1-7 score line. This was a good team performance and the game was played in a sporting and positive manner by both sides in front of a good home crowd. Our next outing is away to Hollywood on Tuesday evening 12th at 8pm and our next home game is against Eire O’g on Tuesday 19th at 8pm.
Congrats to the Aughrim/Annacurra Camogie Feile Team who won out the under 14 Regional Feile in Monaghan last weekend. This was a great achievement by a dedicated group of young players.
Field Day
This years field day will be held in the G.A.A. pitch on Sunday June 17th .All the usual attractions will be there including Juvenile matches, children’s races etc. something for everyone .
Lotto
The numbers: 8, 12, 16 and 22 were drawn in the sports club lotto on Monday last June 4th. Match three winners were: Des Burton, Dermot Leeson c/o B.B. and May O’Brien. The jackpot was won by Johnny Dunne. The jackpot is €1500.
Askinagap Cemetery Mass
The Annual Mass and Blessing of the Graves in Askinagap will take place on Sunday the 24th. June at 2.00.pm.
Aughrim Cemetery Masses
The Annual Cemetery Masses and Blessing of the Graves will take place
as follows:- Upper Macreddin Cemetery , Monday July 16th .
Lower Macreddin Tuesday July 17th. and Rosahane Wednesday July 18th.
All Masses are at 8.00.p.m.

Active Retirement
Aughrim and district active retirement group celebrated their 10th anniversary with a garden party last week. Many thanks to Paddy O Toole for allowing us the use of the magical Ballybeg House for the occasion. Our members entered into the spirit of the Victorian theme by dressing in the style of the period. Many of the fabulous outfits were purchased in the vintage section of the New to You shop. The delicious food was supplied by Orla’s kitchen and Mary Graham provided the music and craic. A great day was enjoyed by all. Yoga will continue on Tuesday’s until June 19th
