GAA News

Our adult football team received two walk overs in our last two league games. On Tuesday night last Eire O’G  failed to travel to fulfil their fixture and on Sunday  Blessington failed to fulfil their fixture against us.

This was a most disappointing end to our league campaign given the huge commitment put in by players and coaches over the last four months.

Congrats to Ciara Connolly from Aughrim Club who won the County Community Games long Puck competition recently and also congrats to Ciara O’ Brien from Aughrim Club who came second in the same competition.  Our under 13 Aughrim Football team won out a very competitive tournament in Kilanerin last week. They beat the host team by five points in the final, well done to this talented group of players.

Well done to club member Donal Linehan who  completed his first Ultra Marathon  last week. Donal who has been doing a lot of the physical training with the adult football team deserves great credit for completing this gruelling event. Donal’s son Sean ran the last 10 k with his dad.

Our school team from 5th and 6th classes won out the first south inter school competition for the Christy Gregan cup recently. They were unbeaten in this competition and beat Carnew, Annacurra and Coolafancy on their way to the title.
