Pupils and teachers were evacuated from Kilmacanogue National School this afternoon due to a gorse fire occurring close by.
Nobody has been harmed and all children are safe waiting to be collected by parents at the church nearby.
Bray and Greystones Fire Brigade have been attending to the scene in Kilmacanogue since 1pm, while other units of Wicklow Fire Service are fighting wildfires at Windgates, Glencree and Kippure.
There has been a critical increase in gorse fires around the county as a result of the hot weather and careless campers, with the Wicklow Fire Services working hard throughout last night dealing with a number of incidents.

Please take care on the Military road on the Sally Gap, smoke hampering visibility, large fire engines on narrow roads – might be a day for the beach instead. @aaroadwatch @wicklowcoco pic.twitter.com/jAuR3SwLaR
