Members of the Outdoor Community, friends, family and local businessfolk gathered on Friday evening 1st June 2018 to celebrate the Official Opening of adventure.ie’s new Outdoor Store & Activity Hub in Laragh – Glendalough. Cutting the ribbon on the evening, was local TD Pat Casey, who also sits on the local development board.
Operational since 1999, adventure.ie have long been recognised as a leading provider of team building and adventure activities in Ireland. They feature regularly in the media, whether in the process of abseiling Irish celebrities from high places such as Croke Park or guiding charity teams across the Arctic plains.
This small Irish company has recently added a new dimension to their business: Retail, equipment rental and a meeting point for outdoor enthusiasts. At a difficult time for retail in general, Ronan Mullen and Cindy Doyle feel that they bring exceptional value-added services and knowledge to the industry. Rather than simply a shop, their new premises in the Brockagh Centre is a destination, a hub, an information point and even a training area.
“When you travel to other mountainous regions, each valley you visit will have at least one outdoor store, somewhere to rent climbing kit and a Guide Office or Tourist Information Office outlining the adventurous activities in the area,” Ronan explains, “At adventure.ie, we have rolled all these things into one, offering our customers the best possible experience.”
At present, they are focussed on the in-store experience but intend to replicate their offerings in a virtual capacity in the coming months. It’s clear from their passion that this vision will become a reality!
Upcoming events include: Tent & Camping Show 10th June, Croke Park Abseils (multiple dates) and bookings now open for their Arctic Expeditions for Winter 2019.
