Wicklow Lifeboat crew launched on all-weather ‘Annie Blaker’ on Wednesday 13 June to assist a yacht with engine failure.
The 12-metre yacht — with three sailors on board — contacted the Coast Guard for assistance after losing all power south of Wicklow Head.
The lifeboat launched at 3.10pm, with Coxswain Nick Keogh and a volunteer crew on board; it reached the yacht twelve minutes later.
Weather conditions in the area were moderate with a south westerly wind level of force five.
Lifeboat crew members quickly established a towline to the yacht, bringing its passengers and the boat to safety alongside north quay shortly after 4.15pm.
The crew on the callout were Coxswain Nick Keogh, Mechanic Brendan Copeland, Carol Flahive, Paul Sillery and Ian Thompson.
