Arklow Music and Arts (AMA) to push for Black Box Theatre

Arklow Music and Arts (AMA) are delighted to announce its intention to proceed with a Black Box style theatre performance space here in the town.  As the impetus to improve our town gathers pace, a number of groups and bodies in the town are all actively contributing to the growing positivity around Arklow, this is something we would also want to contribute too.

Since our inception a few years ago, we have both highlighted the town’s need and demand for a theatrical performance space as well as raise funds to the best of our ability.  We are indebted to the people of the town, the business community, and beyond (most notably some wonderful people residing in the United States of America) for their support.

Some big plans lie ahead in the years ahead for Arklow, and though patience is required, we would like to remind stakeholders that the addition and presence of a fabulous theatre could enhance plans already in place for other projects.  Arklow’s rich musical heritage should never ever be sold short.

In the current climate, economically and socially, it makes sense for AMA to proceed with the creation of a Black Box theatre here in Arklow.  We now invite people or business owners who may have an interest or a suitable venue available, to approach AMA, willing to donate or sponsor the free usage of their premises.  All inquiries please to our secretary, Colm Kavanagh – at 087 2020603, or email at
