Bray Wanderers to host Finn Harps in FAI Cup

Bray Wanderers have been drawn against Finn Harps in the first round of the Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup.

Wanderers, who currently sit bottom of the Airtricity League Premier Division and nine points from safety, will host Harps on the weekend ending the 12th of August.

The draw comes at a troubled time for the County Wicklow club, who announced yesterday that they would be listening to offers for any of their players due to an inability to pay wages until the end of the season.

In a statement, club chairman Gerry Mulvey said: “The situation could change overnight but until such time as it does, we will listen to offers and make decisions on a case by case basis.

“We wish them the best of luck in their endeavours to secure new contracts elsewhere.”

Elsewhere in the draw, Cork City will defend the FAI Cup against Homefarm while Bray’s fellow relegation strugglers Limerick will travel to Cockhill Celtic.
