Important information for Bray Air Display this weekend

Bray Air Display is taking place this weekend (Saturday & Sunday 28-29 July).

Read on for important information to be aware of in relation to the Air Display itself and the local traffic and access arrangements that will be in place.

Road Closures: Saturday 1 pm, Sunday 9 am
– Seapoint Road, Strand Road, Meath Road, Quinnsborough Road, Novara Avenue (from St. Thomas’s), Vevay Road, Putland Road, Newcourt Road, Lower Dargle Road.
– No access, on street parking or vehicle movement on Strand Road – Saturday 1 pm, Sunday 8 am.

Event Site Opens i.e. Funfair, Food & Craft Markets, Helicopter Pleasure Flights, PA Announcements etc.
– Saturday 1:30 pm
– Sunday 12 am

Air Display Start / Finish
– Saturday – 3:30 -6 pm
– Sunday – 2 -5:30 pm

Event Site Closes
– Saturday 10 pm
– Sunday 10 pm

Please note that the Seafront Funfair will run until Monday August 6th, 2018 (12 noon – 10 pm daily) but will be closed on Monday July 30th & Tuesday, July 31st.

Local Access to Road Closures  Every effort will be made to discourage illegal parking in residential estate and side streets. Barriers, signage, street cones and event dedicated towing service will be in operation. In order to help us with these efforts ONE of following will be accepted for local access:

  1. Driving Licence with householder’s address displayed.
  2. Driving Licence and utility bill with householder’s address displayed.
  3. 2018 Vehicle Access Pass.

Vehicle Access Pass – Can be picked up from the Bray Municipal District Office (off Main Street) from Wednesday, July 18th 2018 daily excluding weekends from 10 am to 4 pm. Please bring proof of identity, proof of residency (utility bill), and car registration details. Previous years Vehicle Access Pass will not be valid.

Traffic Management – A comprehensive traffic management plan is in place to get Bray Air Display visitors in and out of the town as quickly as possible. There will be designated car parks available for visitors.

Preparation for the event – In the week prior (July 16th) to the event, many contractors will be on site along Strand Road. No event preparation works will take place before 8 am or after 8 pm.

Litter – There will be designated litter teams allocated to the event. The teams will be litter picking throughout the duration of the event and afterwards.
