Jim’s Way
The renaming of the Upper Aughrim Walk to ‘Jim’s Way’ will take place on Sunday August 19th at 2 o’ clock, starting at Nursery Way.  Come along and join Jim’s family, friends and colleagues for the renaming of his last project, which will honour his contribution to the community of Aughrim. Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy a stroll before having some light refreshments in the Pavilion afterwards. All welcome.

Papal Visit

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin has asked that during the week-end of the Papal
visit that Priests and Pilgrims be free to attend.  With this in mind there will be
Heart, Aughrim. No Morning Mass on Sunday August 26th. in Church of the Sacred.

Community Games

Next weekend we have eight children taken part in the Aldi national community games finals in UL Limerick: Our under 16 mixed relay team of Paraic Doyle, Caolin Goetelan, Hannah Doyle and Anna Lalor.

U14 800m finalist Laci Jane Shannon U10 finalists Allanah Murphy and Colman O’Byrne. U14 long puck Ciara Connolly. Paraic is also in the u16 1500m final too. Best of luck to them all and enjoy the experience. Thank you too to their parents and dedicated coaches Tara and Caoimhe for giving up their time this Summer.

Annual Sheep Show

The 51st Annual Aughrim Sheep Show and Sale will take place in Carnew Mart on Friday September 7th starting at 9am.  Entries forms are available from Alan Kinsella 087 2792157 or Presentation Cabaret will be held on the night in O’ Toole’s, Aughrim at 9pm. Many thanks to all who supported the Commemorative Book.  Copies are still available from all committee members for €15.

Tai Chi & Qi Gong Classes 
Learn gentle flowing healing movements that relieve stress, improve flexibility and mobility. Tai Chi & Qi Gong Classes Wednesday evenings from 7 – 8 pm @ Aughrim Sports & Leisure Complex.  Cost € 80 for a block of 8 classes. The numbers: 8, 19, 21 and 25 drawn in the sports club lotto on Monday last August 6th.The jackpot was not won. Match three winners were: Deirdre Phelan, Aisling, Sinead and Eoin O’Loughlin, P.J. O’Leary, and Barbara Kavanagh. The jackpot is €1800.
