Dunlavin notes week August 6th


Sympathy is extended to the family of Louis Caplis, Tournant who died last week. Louis is mourned by his parents Martin and Carmel, brother Marty and sister Mary Ellen, grandmother Rosie Dunne, many relatives and friends. Louis funeral mass took place on Sunday July 29th in Dunlavin. May he rest in peace.



Pope’s Mass – “A bus is being organised to go from our parish to the Pope’s mass at Phoenix Park on 26th August. You will need to have already booked your ticket directly with the World Meeting of Families organisers as tickets are booked out. Please contact Suzanne Cummins on 0872977794 before the end of July to secure a seat on the bus. Your ticket will dictate your allocated entry point to the Phoenix Park & it would be nice if we could stick together, so we may need to exchange your ticket for a parish group ticket (yet to be confirmed).“

A Pilgrimage to Our Lady’s Island – A bus will leave Centra, Dunlavin on Wednesday, August 15th at 9:30am. The closing ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 8th with the bus leaving from Centra at 4:15pm. If you are interested please contact Mary 087-6619545.


Dunlavin’s Graveyard Mass – will take place on Sunday, August 19th at 7pm. Please pass this date on to family and friends. Thank you.


Baltinglass Day Care’s annual walk is taking place on July 29th at 3pm, leaving from Fisher’s – Centra and finishing at the Day Care Centre with light refreshments afterwards.

The death took place last week of Jimmy Ward, Colbinstown, Dunlavin. Jimmy is mourned by his wife Phyllis, sons  Thomas and Stephen, daughters in law Ann-marie, grand-daughter Sophie, sisters Marie, Rose and Eileen, brothers Kit,Paddy and Tommy  and many relatives and friends. Jimmy’s funeral took place in Crookstown, may he rest in peace..

Used Postage Stamps
