Gardai in Wicklow town are appealing for witnesses to an accident in which a 12-year-old girl was struck by a car.

The driver of the car (a female) got out and asked the girl was she OK and left the scene.

Gardai are keen to speak with the driver of the unidentified car.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident are asked to call Wicklow Garda Station at 0404 67107.
