Hollywood notes week August 13th

Mass Rock / Carraig An Aifreann

Hollywood Tidy Towns and Valleymount Parish would like to invite you to a Mass on the Mass Rock / Carraig an Aifreann, Round Hill, Granamore, near Hollywood on Saturday 18th August, 4.00p.m. to 6.30p.m. Parking in Hollywood GAA grounds and Valleymount Village where Shuttle buses will bring you to the pilgrimage start. Nominal fee will be charged. Buses leaving Hollywood & Valleymount carparks from 3.00p.m. First station of the Cross at 4.00p.m. with Mass on the Rock to follow, approx. 5.00p.m. Return shuttle bus to Hollywood and Valleymount. Walking boots and long socks recommended. Terrain is uneven and may be unsuitable for the elderly / unsure footed. All are welcome to come along.  Event supported by Wicklow County Council & Creative Ireland Programme.

Set Dance Ceili

In Aid of Charity will take place in the Hollywood GAA Centre on Thursday 16th August at 9.00pm. Admission €10.00. Refreshments served. Music by Liz and Sil. All sets called.

Hollywood Tidy Towns

On Wed 22nd Aug we are again hosting our ‘Wild Child Nature Walk’ around the village, starting at 11am. Full details on the heritage week website or from committee members…  Our work evenings continue every Wed evening, meeting in the carpark at 7, new faces always welcome.


Social Dance Hollywood Centre

On Saturday 18th August Music and Refreshments from 9pm to 12 midnight. Music By Tony Bird. All proceeds to The Patients Comfort Care – St. Brigid’s Hospice The Curragh. Your support is much appreciated.


The Community Alert / Friendship Group

The event scheduled for mid-August is deferred to 3rd week in October Details will be furnished in due course.


Acorn’s Pre School Hollywood

Hollywood GAA 

Hollywood GAA Lotto Results: on the 09th August. There was no winner of the Jackpot. Numbers drawn were 3, 16, 25, 29. The sellers prize of a free book of tickets went to Daly’s Shop 834. The three winners of €50 were Frank Malone 454, Brian O’Hara 112, Sandra Tutty 391.  Next draw will be held on 23rd August.in Tutty’s for a Jackpot of €6.000. Please return all tickets by 7.30pm. Good luck to everyone and thank you to all sellers and buyers of tickets throughout the year. Your continued support is much appreciated. Results of Hollywood GAA Club Raffle

Congratulations to all the winners. 1st Prize Audrey Burke, 2nd Prize Mary Byrne, 3rd Prize Pat Kearns, 4th Prize Alan Mooney, 5th Prize Fergal Dunne. Thanks to everyone who bought or sold tickets your support is much appreciated.

Hollywood Seniors had a good win over Bray Emmets on Saturday 11th August in the Senior Football Championship at Joule Park Aughrim. The final score was Hollywood 1-10  Bray Emmets 1-7. The senior teams next outing in the championship will be against Avondale on Saturday 25th August.

Hollywood Junior B Team booked a place in the Quarter final of the Championship with a win over AGB last Thursday night 9th August with the final score being 2-14 to 2-10. The quarter final will be held on Thursday 23rd in Ballinakill.

Hollywood Bingo

Bingo takes place in the Hollywood Centre every Thursday night at 8.30pm.

We have two jackpots  €5,000 and €2,850 to play for each week.

Doctor ‘s Clinic

The Doctor’s Clinic  will be held on the first and third Thursday of each month from 9.30 -11.30am

Pranic Healing

Now available in the Hollywood Centre. Pranic Healing is a non- touch energy healing treatment. Feeling stressed and need to relax or need pain relief from aches and pains. If you would like to book an appointment or need more information please contact Margaret Keogh 087 9674570.
