Dragon Day Workshop with Val Young

Val Young back at the Brockagh Centre, Laragh on Sunday September 23rd  from 10am to 5pm. Val is honoured to be invited back to Ireland to this special place. The day involves three meditations, each feeling very different. Throughout the day you will also be making an essence that each of the participants will take home. This is gift from the Dragons. No previous experience is necessary – just the willingness to go with the energies of the day. The Dragons will show us what needs concentrating on ~ in ourselves, our lives and with Gaia and the Cosmic Circle that will also be present. Maintenance Person/Car Park Attendant

The Brockagh Resource Centre wishes to recruit a part-time maintenance person/car park attendant. Drama School                                                                                                                         

Drama classes starting back on week of the 12th of Sept. Drama is a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouraging creativity and imagination. Drama modules will incorporate improvisation, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills. Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunities to take graded examinations under a fully qualified teacher. Elevation holds a 100% pass rate in IBSD examinations. Elevation Drama Junior (5.45-6.45pm) is held at the Brockagh Centre. Contact Kate on 086 8256775.

Elevation Dance School

Classes starting back on week of the 12th of Sept. Our Modern Dance classes focus on Jazz, Lyrical, and Commercial styles as well as ISTD syllabus work giving a well rounded understanding of the Modern Theatre style. Go to or contact Kate on 086 8256775 to find out more about her dance class. Class times and ages are as follows: Baby ballet (2.45pm), Pre Pri Ballet (3.15pm), Gr2 (4pm), Gr 4 & G1 (5pm).

A Celebration of Harps

The Bray Harp Ensemble in association with Bre Comhaltas Ceoltoiri will present new work composed by Rachel Duffy and the musicians of the ensemble at the Brockagh Resource Centre on August 24th. Free tickets, donations welcome, booking essential, go to to book. The composition will celebrate the past and present harpists of Ireland and especially the 1st Synod of Harpists from Ireland, England and Wales, who gathered in the 11th century in Glendalough. There will also be special guest performers. Refreshments and reception held at 7:30pm before the concert at 8pm. This event is funded by the Creative Ireland Programme.

The Big Dig

In this hands-on activity children can try out a simulated archaeological excavation. The Big Dig takes place in hourly slots and must be booked in advance. The location is in the field next to the Round Tower and access will be through the monastery. See for bookings.


Art of Market Cross at Glendalough

Come along to Glendalough Visitor Centre on 25th August (11 am to 2.30 pm) and join a large scale painting workshop for all ages examining the beautiful stone panels of the Market Cross that once stood in Glendalough. Participants will have the chance to explore 3D models of the cross and other Glendalough monuments.

Open Day at Glendalough Excavations

August 25th (12 noon to 4 pm) is Open Day at the UCD School of Archaeology excavations at Glendalough, with tours, displays and interactive activities including workshops, demonstrations of laser scanning and other forms of recording. The site is adjacent to the main monastic complex.

Free Computer Course                                                                                                       

A free 5-week digital skills computer course will be starting in the Autumn, two hours one day a week. Topics covered include online banking, apps, online government services, email, shopping online, photographs, podcasts, TV players, social media and much more. This course is for beginners or someone who is rarely online and wants to up skill. Call the Brockagh Resource Centre on 0404 45600 or email

Glendalough Car Boot Sales         

Join fellow shoppers for car boot day on Sun, 2nd of Sept, open from 10am to 4pm. Come early to find your bargains on practically anything from household items to garden additions, and even vintage or antique treasures. Vans must be booked in. Please pre-book indoor spaces early. Contact the Brockagh Centre on 0404-45600 or email if you wish to book an indoor space or if you prefer to sell outside just show up at 8am on the morning.
