Vartry Rowing Club finds success at All-Ireland Championships

Wicklow’s Vartry Rowing Club picked up an impressive nine medals at the All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships in Wexford on the 17th, 18th, and 19th of August.

The rowing club tasted success across the board, having entered 19 crews in 13 race categories.

The weekend kicked-off to a great start as the Vartry Rowing Club picked up gold in the Ladies Celtic Longboat category and both gold and silver in the Men’s Celtic Longboat category.

Saturday saw the club take silver in both the Pre-Veteran Mixed Race and Intermediate Men’s race.

The weekend was punctuated with bronze medals in the Junior Ladies, both gold and silver in the Junior Men’s, and gold in the Senior Mixed.

The club wrote “We are a small club with a huge heart and we are proud of what we do and who we do it for.”

“Well we are proud to announce that the little club with the big heart has brought back to Wicklow, not one, not two, not three but four All-Ireland Titles to Wicklow Town.”
