Closed post offices spark protests in Dublin

Protestors took to the streets of Dublin today to highlight their frustrations regarding the closures of 159 post offices in the country – two of which are being closed in Co. Wicklow.

A group of protestors gathered outside the Dail to demand a reversal of the policy which would see them having to travel to the next nearest post office.

A deal between An Post and the Postmasters’ Union has been the subject of much controversy due to the closures, with many politicians organising meetings and demonstrations in order to highlight the problem.
