Wicklow Rapid Response were presented with a new life-saving defibrillator last Saturday on Save a Life Day.

The new defibrillator is an all-encompassing cardiac machine and is a vital tool to critical care units all around the world.

The defibrillator was also just recently trialled by Wicklow Rapid Response and was used to successfully restart a patient’s heart in Wicklow.

A spokesperson for Wicklow Rapid Response said “We are very grateful to the Slater family and everyone who fundraised for this vital, life-saving equipment including the Version 1 community fund.”

WRR also thanked Sinnott Skoda for supporting their cause.

“The continued support of Sinnott Skoda in providing Wicklow Rapid Response with a 4×4 Skoda Karoq RRV (rapid response vehicle) allows the Critical Care Doctor respond to emergencies safely in all road conditions.”

“The annual Save a Life Day is designed to promote public awareness about the Chain of Survival and the important role that members of the public can play in this Chain of Survival, in order to save a life before the arrival of the professional emergency services.

“Our thanks to the responders of Wicklow Town Community First Responders, supported by fellow responders from around the county, in providing bystander training to all the visitors.”
