Almost 2 in 10 Irish voters think president should earn minimum wage

A recent survey taken between the 3rd and 10th of October has shown that 60% of Irish voters believe that Michael D. Higgins should give up his state pension of €19000.

The survey has also shown that almost 2 in 10 Irish voters believe that the president should earn the minimum wage of €9.55 an hour.

Though Higgins is soaring in the polls ahead of election day, it would seem as though voters still believe there needs to be dramatic change in how much the president of the state receives in payment.
