Open Evening

St. Kevin’s Open Evening takes place on Thursday 25th October at 7pm. We would like to extend an invitation to all prospective students and their parents / guardians to attend. Come and see our state of the art facilities and meet our excellent staff and students.

 

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to the Corrigan family 0n the death of their sister Ann Mahon , Lacken, Blessington,  wife of John and mother of Jennifer, Patrick and John. Will be dearly missed by her family, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends. Ann’s funeral took place in Lacken. May she rest in peace.

 

Save The Date – Dunlavin’s Senior Citizen Christmas Party will be held in the Imaal Hall on Sunday, 25th November. Invites will be sent out in the coming weeks.

 

Workshop – An opportunity has arisen in the community to run a Sensational Kids workshop to support parents of young people with ASD. If you are the parent of a young person with ASD, you are invited to attend an initial meeting with Sensational Kids to give your views on the type of workshop you would like to see delivered in our area. Wednesday, 17th October from 4:30-5:30pm in the Imaal Hall.  Supported by CYPSC, Tusla and Kildare Youth Services.

 

Dunlavin & District Forum – held a Church Gate Collection at all Masses last weekend. A total of €352.10 was raised and your support was most welcomed.

 

Dunlavin GAA – will host a Halloween Party in Rathsallagh Golf Club on Sunday, 28th October. Tickets €10 or €15 on the door. Prizes for Best Dressed on the night (further details to follow). Get your thinking caps on for a fun night.

They will also be holding Dunlavin GAA race night, in Burkes Bar on 9th November. It will start at 9pm and Horses will be €10 each.

Get rid of any old clothes and shoes at our clothes collection up in the clubhouse.

Meals on Wheels Fundraiser

Donard/Dunlavin meals on wheels art hosting a fundraiser in Rathsallagh Golf Club on October 20th at 8pm. The evening will feature Andrew Deering with his award winning play Dear Attracta..

Cork’s favourite agony aunt Attracta Tension comes to Rathsallagh Golf Club for one night only. Hold on to your hats as she dispenses her no-nonsense advice (how to put smacht on your neighbours’ children, the best reaction when somebody tells you to smile) and regales you with very important stories about her formative years. She’ll even throw in a few songs!

Catechism Study -Do you want to understand the Catholic faith more deeply? Or be able to explain your faith better? An adult  study of the YOUCAT catechism is starting on Tuesdays at 6.30pm upstairs in the Parish Office, from 2nd October until March 2019. Suitable for age 20 upwards. Dunlavin CommunityFirstResponders– are looking to recruit new members to join our team of Responders. You don’t need to have any first aid skills as full training will be given. All we require is that you be 18+, have your own transport, be available to attend monthly training sessions and commit some time to a rota. Initial training will take place on Saturday 20th October. Dunlavin Flower & Garden Club – Will host a demonstration “With Christmas in Mind” on Wednesday November 14th  at 8pm in the Jonathan Swift School Hall. All Welcome. Paula from Flower Box will be the demonstrator on the night.

The Folk Group – is starting back after summer. We’re at noon mass on the 2nd Sunday of the month & 10am mass on the 4th Sunday of the month. We’re always open to new members We practice after mass, you don’t need to be able to read music to join in the singing and there’s no pressure to attend every time.

Used Postage Stamps
