The woman at the centre of cervical cancer controversy Emma Mhic Mhathúna has died.
The 37-year-old mother of five passed away at the University Hospital Kerry in Tralee this morning.
Ms Mhic Mhathúna was awarded €7.5 million this summer following her case against the HSE and the US laboratory, Quest Diagnostics.
Quest admitted to misreading two cervical smear slides in 2010 and 2013.
The HSE admitted liability for not disclosing the findings of the CervicalCheck audit.
